Jewellery Care Tips

With the right care, your jewellery will last for years to come.

Titanium and stainless steel base metals are very hard, strong and durable. To maintain their gold plated finish, please follow these care and storage guidelines:

  • Avoid direct contact with perfumes, lotions, hair sprays and other chemicals by putting your jewellery on after you've applied these. Plated finishes can erode and tarnish over time with prolonged exposure to these chemicals.
  • Strong chlorine and salt water can have a similar effect on plated finishes, and should be avoided where possible.
  • Steel jewellery is strong, but prongs and clasps are still delicate pieces of metal that can get hook on hair, bedding and towels. Always remove jewellery before going to bed so that prongs don't hook.
  • If your jewellery contains beads, crystals, rhinestones or gems, avoid very high heat, such as boiling water or fire, which can cause delicate stones to crack.
  • Remove jewellery before bathing, showering or swimming to prevent them from slipping off unnoticed when your skin is wet.
  • Occasionally wash jewellery with a mild warm water and dish soap solution, using a soft toothbrush to gently brush away caked on dirt and oils.
  • Wipe clean and polish with a soft jewellery polishing cloth such as this one when you need to restore luster.
  • Store jewellery away in a safe and soft place, such as a jewellery box or pouch, when not wearing. Oxygen exposure can encourage tarnishing on some metals, even pure gold, over time.
  • Do not store with hard materials such as diamonds, as these can scratch softer stones and metals when they're crowded in the same box of pouch.

Can I return a mens bracelet if it is too small. Bought previously for my husband but it was too small as he is a big man.
